SDA’s recreational dance program
allows students of all ages and skill levels to participate. Dance classes begin in September and run once a week until May, when we hold our annual recital. However, it is never too late to enroll! Prices range according to class time lengths.
Ballet is the foundation of all dance.
We at SDA strongly encourage that ballet is to be taken in conjunction with a tap and/or jazz class. All students in ballet LEVEL I AND UP are required to wear a black leotard with pink tights, along with appropriate dance shoes(pink canvas or leather ballet, and black tap).
DANCE SCHEDULE
PRE-BALLET/TAP (ages 4-6)
For the little ones who just can’t stop twirling and prancing around the house! A Pre-Ballet/Tap class will introduce basic dance technique to your child and do so in a FUN atmosphere with others at the same age and skill level. This 45 minute class is divided into two dance lessons, beginning with ballet and ending with tap. Both ballet and tap shoes are required for this class.
PRE-BALLET/TAP (ages 3-6)
This princess-themed class covers all the skills taught in a regular PBT class, only using “princess” props, music, and games! Each student is referred to by their teacher as “Princess" to make them feel extra royal!
